In exactly one month, on March 20, there will be the first ever World Film Photography Day (WFPD).
Obviously, most photobloggers (and most other human beings) use digital cameras nowadays. That’s why I was facing the question: Will they be interested in the WFPD or just ignore it? I decided to let you help me find an answer by initiating some kind of a blog carnival / meme (often ‘Blog Parade’ in German).

 

The rules are simple:

 

• I ask you to answer some the following questions on your blog, link to this entry and send me a trackback. Deadline is the WFPD: March 20.

• If you don’t have a Blog, use your website and write the URL to your answers in a comment to this post. If you don’t even have a website, simply answer the questions in the comment.

• Your Blog/Website does not have to focus on photography, everybody can participate.

• You may write in English or German.

• After one month, I will list all participating sites on my blog and start evaluating the answers. (I don’t make use of the nofollow tag, so this might be interesting for SEOs, too)

• Everyone who participates will take place in a drawing for a set of five of my Photo Buttons.

The Questions

 

• Do you usually shoot film or digital? (On what occasions? Which format?)

• Will you participate on WFPD? (Why / Why not?)

• What do you think about events like WFPD? Is it chance to promote film photography or does it show that film photography has entered a niche existence (like e.g. pinhole or toy camera photography).

Additional Question:

 

I still have some disposable 35mm film cameras (Agfa LeBox without Flash, expired last summer, but that shouldn’t matter) around. For those that do not own any film camera but would like to participate:

 

• Write down to what use you would put them on WFPD. Will you simply take pictures yourself, hand the camera over from friend to friend or even ask strangers to take a picture and thereby remembering them that there still is film photography?

The most creative answer(s) (my choice and not debatable) will win two of them. The deadline for this is March 5, as they have to be shipped early enough. Unfortunately, I have to restrict this to participants from within the European Union, as the delivery time might be to long outside. I want the cameras to arrive in time for the WFPD!

In genau einem Monat, am 20. März, findet der erste World Film Photography Day (WFPD) statt.
Da offenbar die meisten Foto-Blogger (und sicher auch die meisten anderen Menschen) heutzutage Digitalkameras verwenden, kam die Frage aus: Werden sie Interesse am WFPD haben oder ihn einfach ignorieren? Ich habe beschlossen, dass Ihr mir bei der Beantwortung helft, indem ich eine Blog-Parade (bzw. einen Blog-Karneval) veranstalte.

 

Die Regeln sind einfach:

 

• Du beantwortest einige der folgenden Fragen in deinem Blog, verlinkst zu diesem Eintrag und schickst mir einen Trackback. Deadline ist der WFPD, also am 20. März.

• Wenn Du kein Blog hast tut’s auch eine Website. Schreib die URL zu deinen Antworten einfach in einen Kommentar zu diesem Eintrag. Wenn Du auch keine Site hast, antwortet einfach gleich im Kommentar.

• Dein Blog / deine Website muss sich nicht mit Fotografie befassen, jeder kann teilnehmen.

• Du kannst in Deutsch oder Englisch schreiben.

• Nach einem Monat werde ich alle Teilnehmer hier im Blog auflisten und beginnen, die Antworten auszuwerten. (Ich verwende keine nofollow, also ist die Teilnahme auch für SEOs interessant.)

• Unter allen Teilnehmern werde ich ein Set aus fünf meiner Foto-Buttons verlosen.

Die Fragen

 

• Fotografierst du normalerweise digital oder analog? (Zu welchen Anlässen? Welches Format?)

• Wirst du am WFPD teilnehmen? (Warum / Warum nicht?)

• Was hältst du von Events wie dem WFPD? Ist es eine Möglichkeit, analoge Fotografie zu fördern oder zeigt es, dass sie inzwischen eine Nischenexistenz führt (wie z.B. Lochkamera- oder Toy-Camera Fotografie).

Zusatzfrage:

 

Ich habe noch einige 35mm-Film Einwegkameras (Agfa LeBox ohne Blitz, letzten Sommer abgelaufen, aber das sollte nicht ausmachen). Für all jene, die keine analoge Kamera mehr haben aber gerne am WFPD teilnehmen würden:

 

• Schreibt, wie Ihr eine Einwegkamera am WFPD nutzen würdet. Werdet Ihr einfach Bilder machen, die Kamera unter Freunden durchreichen oder sogar Fremde bitten ein Foto zu machen und sie damit daran erinnern, dass es immer noch Film-Fotografie gibt?

Die kreativste(n) Antwort(en) (meine Wahl und nicht anfechtbar) wird zwei der Kameras gewinnen. Die Deadline hierfür ist allerdings der 5. März, da sie rechtzeitig abgeschickt werden müssen. Leider muss ich dies auf Teilnehmer aus der Europäischen Union beschränken, da die Lieferzeiten sonst zu lang werden könnten. Ich will, dass die Kameras rechtzeitig zum WFPD da sind!
