Exhibition

Dezember 2nd, 2008 by Julia

As my last exhibition has been last year, now it is time for another one: The University of Bonn shows in the context of the “Dies Academicus” (open day of the university) the exhibition “Studio 2008 - Die Arche” of the Studio for fine arts. It shows drawings, skulpturs and photos. I know that the titel arc seems to be confusing, but in our course for black and white photography, we decided for the theme “portrait”.

The vernissage will take place tomorrow at 6 pm, in the Studio for fine arts, Am Hof 7, Bonn, next to the main building of the university.

Black and white portraid in front of war memorial in Bonn. Germany, expressing despair.

In my two series of three pictures I took pictures of my friends, who friendly procured themselfs for this project.

Black and White film photography of legs and feet, leaning against war memorial with names of soldiers that died in WWI.

The first untitelt series shows a person in front of a war memorial in Bonn. Because of this place and the interacting of the model, the photos got a special deep atmosphere.

Julia, I really like the first two, the second of the feet the best. The use of triangles is a strong point in composition. enjoy pjc

In photography the picture becomes a moment which is captured and the camera becomes some kind of 'third eye'. Every picture is a part of reality. The photography becomes a language, a language beyond the word. Every photographer has its own language.

This is my one.
