    Hidden - Discover

This series does not show at first glance what is happening in the pictures shown. The black and white photographs hide something, such as the Eiffel Tower which is only partially visible, and structures the entire series. The photos consist of two levels, that can be discovered individual and in their interactions.
Analogue black and white photographies shot on negative film from Paris and the coasts of Brittany and Normandy in France.

    Idyll

What does the painting of a "roaring deer on a mountain lake" in a phone booth? How did it end up in a shopping cart in the supermarket? Why hang it on a street sign?
In this series, I took the word "idyll" both in its literal sense "pictures", staging a picture inside a picture. On the other hand, I have contrasted the idyll depicted in the painting with an entirely different, new context, putting it in uncommon sceneries. This way I want to inspire the viewer to think about the concept of idyll.

    Disconnected (working title)

The series, which still is a work in progress, focuses on the mindset of the second generations of Germans after World War 2. It explores the horror, incomprehension and feeling of shame and innocent guild experienced by young people reflecting this history of wars and dictatorship. The pictures display the disconnection these people sense from their deceased ancestors, represented by war memorials, old houses and bridges not passed.
Absorbed in thought they struggle with what once was. Thoughts are withdrawn from society, can not be seen and photographed directly. Composing the pictures with out of focus portraits still allows to reflect this mood, and partial details act like fragmentary notions.
The pictures are recorded in black and white to refer to the past, using small format, highly sensitive film. The film’s grain adds a rough texture, representing the discomfort and erosion felt.
