This photo essay shows my encounter with California.
It is not about the glamour you see in the movies, where there is always sunshine, big cars, guys surfing, blond girls and a lot of money. It is a view which is sometimes blurry, just showing shapes which must be interpreted to see what is really behind them. Sometimes even darker than expected for Hollywood or California, but it is how I saw it, without sparkles, just the way it is. Observing and finding the beauty in places you wouldn’t expect them – this was my goal. Like in a detail of an Old-timer found in Bodega Bay – where Hitchocks The Birds was shoot –, or the peeling colour of a house in the desert, or the poetic dark-grey sunset in the bay of Berkeley. – Just look for it and you will find your truth.
